So, so, SO sorry for not being around as much lately! I am out of town for work in Chicago currently, and then off to Boston for a few days so things are quite chaotic. 

I wore this outfit last week and while I know it is officially fall now, I find myself still reaching for shorts and sandals. Major California girl problems, right? With that being said, visiting the East Coast has definitely given me the excitement for fall and I can't wait to start wearing more boots, rich jewel tones, and cute sweaters!

Just my kind of outfit: neon on neon, on neon. :-) It probably doesn't come as a surprise that I instantly fell in love with this comfy sweater. Not only is the color perfection, but the black paneling adds a fun detail and I knew it would add just the right amount of brightness I needed for a cold winter day. And if the sweater and tote wasn't enough, I added yet another pop with some fun pink lipstick and a little sparkle at my feet.

For the winter I am totally crushing on velvet. It brings a rich, luxurious vibe to a look and is perfect for adding texture to an otherwise simple outfit like this.  Paired with my new cap-toe heels that I have been on the hunt for for-ev-er, leopard clutch and a few sparkling accessories- I am definitely feeling winter-chic. Next on my list: velvet blazer.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! Since I had no plans to crash anyone's Christmas this year, I spent some quality time with Tula.... I also baked, cleaned, did laundry, went on long walks--pretty darn relaxing actually! But I think everyone is still in holiday mode getting ready for NYE, so I thought I would share a simple, yet festive look with you all. I love anything with some sparkle (don't we all?!), so when I saw this glistening beauty at K-mart while doing some holiday shopping, I had to scoop it up--and at only $10--I got it in a basic black too! Paired with nude pumps, a studded bag and a red lip- perfect for happy hour with a friend! 

I guess it's safe to start my birthday countdown considering it is on SATURDAY! 3 days and counting...

Hi friends! I know, I know, it has been has been over a week since I blogged! Life has been so busy and I have been in and out of town for the past 3 weeks..and leaving again next week for my sisters wedding- AH! So I definitely wanted to get some posts in, as I have missed you guys! 

This outfit was from a few weeks ago, but I just love the combination of layering a sweater over a summer dress which totally makes it fall appropriate. I was just saying to the gals in the office that I am a terrible layerer..it's probably due to growing up in California since you usually don't need more than 2 layers. I am going to put my layering skills to the test this winter though, so stay tuned! I also have been trying out new hairstyles and I think besides the sock bun, this one is my absolute favorite! It is SO easy to do and adds that little hint of innocence to any look!

Yes...this is happening...me, in a peplum top! As some of you may know, I never really thought peplum worked for my body type so I steered clear of it for quite some time now. But when I saw this baby at TJ Maxx a few months back I had to have it, and was determined to make it work! I actually have worn this a few different times and each time, my love for peplum grows deeper and deeper! This time paired with my $10 Forever 21 skinnies-love!, new Ann Taylor espadrilles on super super clearance (only $35!!)-love! and my handy dandy Rebecca Minkoff tote-love! It's just one major fashion love affair going on. :-)

Neon skinnies, striped top, leopard bag and glitter shoes? Why the heck not! I kind of love everything about this look because it is just flat out fun- and to me, fashion should be all about fun!
