I was SO honored to be asked to speak at my high school's career fair last month and before even thinking about my presentation, the first thing that came to mind was "What am I going to wear!?". I knew I wanted to look stylish, with a little hint of professional...because I didn't want to wear my jeans and Converse like I normally do these days. ;-) I also was one of the only speakers in a more creative industry so I knew I wanted to have a little flair and show these young women that you can still have a professional job, but have fun with your style at the same time, and that's exactly what I accomplished with this look.

This dress I picked up as I was cruising through Target for new mascara,  and I naturally stopped by the clothing area (get's me everytime!) which I normally wouldn't go for, but I thought for this occasion it would be great. Fun print, chic, comfortable and can be worn many different ways in the future. Paired with tights, chunky boots and a tuxedo vest -- I was ready to take on the stage!

I had the best time sharing my career path and experience with these bright, young adults and feel so accomplished and rewarded to have had this opportunity.

While I must admit, boho isn't my go-to style, I absolutely LOVE this look. Floucy dress, faux fur vest, wool hat? Yes, on so many levels. I felt so Rachel Zoe and might need to rock this style more in the future.

That's one thing I love about fashion, one day you can look like a boho babe and the next a preppy schoolgirl (yes that's totally a hint to another post coming soon). Have fun with your style, it's all up to you!

Another day, another pair of printed shorts. I told you guys I had a problem! I also think I threw on as much color as possible because I am in denial that summer is coming to an end...not that I will stop wearing color during fall, just probably a tiny bit less (keyword: tiny). 

It's been quite the crazy week so keeping this short and sweet!

While I do have a slight case of the Monday blues, this week is jam packed with fun! I'm off to Denver for work tomorrow and then my sister flies in town for the July 4th weekend- yay and yay! So really, the only blues I've got are the ones I am wearing in this post. :-)

When I purchased these shorts about two years ago, I knew they would be in heavy rotation...but little did I know that they would be my go-to pair summer after summer. The lightweight material, bright tropical floral print, and slightly higher waist style is the perfect combo of comfort and fun! 

And remember my excitement last week when I ordered these pumps? Well, they are just as lovely as I imagined, and thought they were the perfect finishing touch to this look!

My Monday mornings always require coffee, an easy hairstyle, coffee, and flats. 

Did I mention coffee? ;-) 

I'm so excited to share this post with you all because the photos were taken with my one true love, Tula! I wish she could make guest appearances on the blog more often, so when I had the chance to take pictures at my apartments, I knew she had to join the fun! She's such a little model, right?

And as much as I love my new Karen Walker sunnies, I think Tula is the best accessory, by far!
